BIO

Dr. Beatriz Manzor is an Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan College of Pharmacy. She conducts quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods research and follows a community engaged research approach for underserved populations with type 2 diabetes, hypertension, depression and other chronic diseases. She strongly advocates for access to easy to understand medication information across the continuum of care. 
 

Dr. Manzor is an active committee member for several national associations. These include the American Pharmacists Association (APhA), the National Hispanic Pharmacists Association (NHPA), the National Pharmaceutical Association (NPhA), American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP), the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP). She is an active member of several university organizations including the Eisenberg Family Depression Center, the Michigan Institute for Clinical & Health Research (MICHR), and the Institute for Healthcare Policy and Innovation (IHPI). In addition to supporting the respective association and organization committees' charges, Dr. Manzor has served as an abstract and grant reviewer, mentor, and invited expert presenter. Dr. Manzor is also the faculty advisor for the Student National Pharmaceutical Association (SNPhA).

 

Dr. Manzor has been the recipient of several grants to support valuable research and foster future innovative research efforts. These include the Eisenberg Family Depression Center Collaborative Innovations Award (2018), MICHR J (pre-K) Award (2018), MICHR KL2 Award (2019), and AACP New Investigator Award (2022), and the MICHR Promoting Academics and Community Engagement (PACE) Dissemination Grant (2025). 

 

Dr. Manzor is dedicated to improving personal health literacy, ehealth literacy, and clinical outcomes for underserved populations with chronic diseases. Members of the Manzor Research Laboratory and the LABSCO steering committee (established by Dr. Manzor in 2018) are also committed to accomplishing these goals. To achieve this, she conducts research and publishes findings that will drive legislative changes to require access to easy to understand medication information for anyone receiving a prescription medication from any US community pharmacy.
